WHAT ARE THE KINDS OF CANADIAN POLAR BEAR COINS

 There are several types of Canadian polar bear coins. Canadian Gold Polar Bear Coin is also known as toonie and two dollar coin.  

The 'Toonie' or Canadian polar bear coin has a life span approximately 20 times longer than paper currency and is manufactured using a distinctive bi-metallic coin locking mechanism patented by the Royal Canadian Mint.



BRIEF HISTORY OF CANADIAN POLAR BEAR COIN:

These polar bear coins were introduced in different years and these coins had different worth at that time according to the years. 

  • These coins were introduced in 1996 and have worth that showed a portrait of Queen Elizabeth.  This image of Queen Elizabeth appeared on all Canadian circulation coins from 1990 to 2003. 

  • Canada's one territory Nunavut, created a special design to commemorate the founding of Nunavut, This types of design appeared on all 1999 two-dollar coins produced for general circulation. But in 1999, Canadian polar bear coin design appeared on special and limited coins. 

  • An artist, designed a female polar bear and her two cubs to represent the transfer of knowledge from one generation to the next.

  • It is important to note the position of 1996-2006 double coats on each polar bear coin: the traditional bear design shows the date beneath the effigy of Queen Elizabeth, while the updated bear shows the date above the effigy.

But prices of these different Canadian polar bear coins are different according to the currencies of various countries.
